The Southern African Alternative Energy Association (SAAEA) represents and actively promotes Renewable Alternative Energy Solutions in our region. Its focus is the whole industry, rather than sector.

The SAAEA advocate policy development on behalf of our members at decision making government level. The Independent Power Producers Forum (IPPF) is an international non-profit NGO composed of senior executives and decision-makers heading up firms with energy and power business commitments across Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas.

The Fossil Fuel Foundation is an impartial, independent non-profit organisation which serves the techno-intellectual needs of the multidisciplinary fossil fuel and energy community in Africa, through communication, information distribution, coordination, education, promotion and networking.


The Energy Training Foundation (EnTF) has been training and certifying Energy Professionals to internationally recognised qualifications since 2002. EnTF is the sole approved training partner for the Southern African region for the US-based Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) – the available programs in the region are: Certified Energy Manager (CEM®), Certified Energy Auditor (CEA™), Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP®), Certified Renewable Energy Professional (REP®) and Certified Water Efficiency Professional (CWEP). EnTF is EWSETA accredited, and runs locally developed training in energy efficiency and renewable energy with all courses carrying CPD credits.

Formed in 1909, the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers has grown to the extent that there are approximately
6000 members on its membership roll. Members are professionally engaged in the full range of engineering activities, including
academic research, manufacturing, electronics, telecommunications, measurement and control, mining, and power infrastructural 
services. They make meaningful contributions of the quality of life to the community and to the steady advancement of technology. 
Their efforts are acknowledged in many countries across the world.

The Institute contributes to the common interests and welfare of the whole engineering fraternity through close co-operation 
with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
